Our Story
Hi!
My name is Jessie
Wonder Seekers Sensory Play officially came to life in February 2023… but honestly, the heart of it has been forming for much longer than that.
​
I’m Jessie — a mum to four girls, and someone who has spent over a decade working alongside children in early learning and education. Over the years I’ve worn a few different hats… running my own family day care, working as a lead educator in a Reggio Emilia–inspired long day care centre, and supporting children as a teacher aide in a primary school setting.
But Wonder Seekers wasn’t created just because of my background or experience.

It came from something much more personal.
It grew from watching my own girls play — noticing how deeply they sink into it when they’re given the time, space, and materials that invite curiosity instead of rushing them along. The quiet moments where they’re scooping, pouring, mixing, creating, imagining… and just being.
​
That’s the kind of magic I wanted to create for other families too.

Wonder Seekers Sensory Play is here to offer gentle sensory and messy play experiences, creative invitations, and nature-inspired setups — spaces where children feel safe to explore, supported to take their time, and encouraged to follow their own sense of wonder… all while having fun and making meaningful connections.

My hope is that when you step into a Wonder Seekers experience, you feel that same sense of calm, joy, and presence that I get to witness when my own children are completely immersed in play.

Everything we do at Wonder Seekers Sensory Play is guided by a simple philosophy:

We draw inspiration from the natural world, incorporating organic elements, textures, and seasonal influences wherever possible.
Gentle Pace
We honour slow play. Children are free to engage at their own rhythm, without pressure to perform, finish, or move on.

With a background spanning family day care, long day care, and primary school support, Wonder Seekers Sensory Play is grounded in both professional experience and lived motherhood.
